Educational Programs

Galiano Island is a perfect venue for hands-on environmental education, or nature literacy. Although only an hour's ferry ride from urban centres, Galiano maintains its rural setting offering the opportunity to disconnect from the city and reconnect with nature. Its wild areas make for a wonderful outdoor classroom as they encompass lakes, creeks, beaches and mature forest and they are host to some of Canada's richest and most endangered ecosystems.

From the Forest to the Sea Watershed Education Program

This program is the cornerstone of our hands-on educational work. It is unique in exploring all the components of the basic ecological unit of the watershed - stream, lake, forest and sea.
