There are many ways to create a gift that results in a difference. You can:

- Create a legacy gift that will go on giving forever
1. Gifts for Today
 To support the immediate program needs of the Conservancy, you can:

- Set up a monthly donation to Galiano Conservancy. Making a pre-authorized monthly gift to the Conservancy from your bank account provides a steady, reliable source of conservation funds that will be put to immediate use. Contact us to make arrangements.
- Give a gift of securities. Ask about making a gift of securities rather than cash/cheque to receive very favourable tax incentives.
- Give assets, including non-ecological land, to the Conservancy. The fair market value of the gift will be determined, the gift sold, and the funds used by the Conservancy for its programs. Note that gifts of ecological land will be considered differently and may be eligible for tax advantages through the Ecological Gifts program.
Have you thought of honouring someone or commemorating a loved one? When a commemorative donation is made, a card goes to the family, next of kin, or recipient you wish to recognize.
When Kate and Keith were getting married in 2007, they decided that instead of gifts they would invite friends to make a donation to the Great Beaver Swamp project. More than $10,000 was donated towards the campaign to buy one of Galiano's most precious areas. Thank you Kate & Keith. (For details see the "In the News" article.)
2. Legacy Gift Options
Your gift will enable the Conservancy to continue building on its history of land acquisition, stewardship and restoration, and education outreach.
In 2008 the Galiano Conservancy Association established the Galiano Conservancy Association Endowment Fund at the Vancouver Foundation. Donations to this fund will go on giving forever.
Planning your donation with the help of advisors will result in peace of mind for you and your family. It can also mean significant income tax savings, avoidance of capital gains tax, and the capacity to make a much larger gift than you believed possible.
There are many ways to create your legacy gift. Please talk to your legal and financial advisors, your family and us about gifts such as:
- a bequest (a gift in your will)
- a life insurance policy that benefits the Conservancy
- gifts of assets such as securities (please ask about tax advantages. You no longer have to pay capital gains tax on gifts of securities.)
- gifts of land. Ecological gifts may qualify for tax advantages under the Federal Government's Ecological Gifts Program. Other gifts may be converted to valuable legacy gifts.
- Other options including charitable gift annuities.
The Legacy Circle
Your gift to the Conservancy's Endowment Fund will be greatly appreciated. As the funds grow, the earned interest will be used to sustain the Conservancy's work. Your gift will support stewardship of Galiano Island in perpetuity. Please join the Conservancy's Legacy Circle of Donors!
