Road to landing during summer 2002 before restoration work.
Road during fall, 2002 before restoration work, heavy rains flood over beaver dam and across access road.
To allow us to carry out restoration on the landing site at Laughlin Lake, and to allow us restrict vehicle access from the lake side, we had to install a standpipe that would give the fire department emergency access to water without needing to drive through the creek to get it. Large alder saplings were salvaged by the excavator for later replanting. A defined stream channel was excavated where the water from Laughlin Lake used to cross the old road. Large rocks were placed as landings for the footbridge that was later installed.
